Join Triangle Fraternity for our Week 1 Fall Recruitment events.

On Tuesday, we will be hosting an information session explaining the goals, costs and culture of the fraternity. The session will take place in PSCB 240 with a group of brothers walking from the flag poles at 6.30.

On Wednesday, a group of brothers will be revisiting their childhood by playing retro video games, board games and card games. Rides will be available and will be leaving from the flag poles at 6.30.

On Thursday, we will be taking to Middle Earth to test our engineering skills with an egg drop competition. We will be meeting at 6.30 at the flag poles.

On Friday, we will be barbecuing and hanging out! Once again, flag poles at 6.30.

Last week! On Wednesday we’ll be having an Information Session and Playing Ultimate Frisbee on Friday. As always, we will be picking up at the Flagpoles starting at 6.30.

This past weekend, Triangle Fraternity at UCI celebrated their National Founder’s Day by joining together and eating expensive food at The Bistango Restaurant in Irvine. Planned by Brother Andrew Nguyen, the event was an intimate get together, set off in a room private from the rest of the restaurant. Guests enjoyed their meals while listening to heart felt speeches from former president Alex Lopez as well as notable alumni Stuart Masuda and Jon Okunaga.

The event was capped off with a beautiful dessert of dark chocolate and sweet cream cheese cake and the presentation of the fraternity awards. This year the Triangle Award, for the most exemplary member, the Daniel Paulson Award, for the member who has developed the most in the past year, and the Bob the Builder Award, for the brother who was most instrumental in the fraternity’s building projects, were joined by three new honors: the Stuart Masuda award for the member who has put the most time and effort into the fraternity and the Stuart J. Masuda award, named after its first recipient, for the most exemplary alumnus.

The dinner marks the one hundred and fourth anniversary of the founding of Triangle as a national organization and the third Founder’s Day of more to come at UCI.

Everyone getting used to spring quarter?

This week, we’ll be playing kickball on Wednesday and hanging out at the Zot Zone on Friday. We’ll be meeting up at the flagpoles at 6:30 those nights and heading to the venue. If you need a ride, meet there!

Last week was hells-a fun, let’s keep it going.

There are four events this week, pick up will be at the flag poles from 6:30 – 7:00. Everything is free of charge.

Tuesday, Ice Cream and Game Night.

Wednesday, Egg Drop Competition Event.

Thursday, Information Night.

Friday, Annual Triangle Bonfire.

This week, we’ll be having four events for everyone to get to know each other at.

On Tuesday, we’ll be kicking off with our signature event, Medieval Capture the Flag. Join Triangle Fraternity in Aldrich Park for some Medieval Warfare. We’ll be meeting at 6:30 in front of the flag poles. If you can’t make it to the flag poles, you should be able to find us in the park.

On Wednesday, Triangle will be spending our time in Zotzone, playing pool and videogames. Once again, we’ll be meeting at 6:30 in front of the flag poles.

Thursday, we’ll be playing board and card games at the Triangle House. Rides will be provided, picking up from the flagpoles between 6:30 and 7:00.

Finally, we’ll be rounding out the week with a Barbecue on Friday, in Camino del Sol. Rides will be provided, leaving from the flagpoles at 7:00.

Running parallel with the President’s Leadership Academy is the DRIVE Recruitment Seminar. There, attendees learn the importance of branding and marketing in today’s world. Not just a marketing course, DRIVE stresses living your values day to day to improve your brand and doing great things in your community to increase your visibility.

Triangle Fraternity believes that a worthwhile organization markets itself through its actions and endeavors, not through an artificial campaign designed to represent something that doesn’t truly exist in the organization.

This Spring Quarter, Triangle will be splitting it’s Formal Recruitment period over four weeks. Events will go up the weekend before they’re scheduled and will be free to any interested parties.

You guys want a sneak peak? Well.. we have a few swords lying around that we’d like to introduce you to.

Brother Charles Lam is one of the original members of the founding class of the UCI Colony. Originally a physics major, he found his true passion in newspaper and magazine writing. He is currently double majoring in French Literature and Cognitive Psychology.

He is currently the Webmaster and Editor-In-Chief of UCITriangle.com. He has also held the positions of Public Relations Chair, Philanthropy Chair, New Member Educator and Human Resources Director in the past.

On campus, he is a staff member of the UCI Computerstore and a staff writer for the New University.

His hobbies include food, photography, cycling and writing.
